MediaTek has been the top-selling brand for chipsets. The best ones of this phone are the Helio G- series that are good for gaming and can be trusted for the fast performance of this phone.
The Mediatek Helio G80 is a mainstream ARM SoC for smartphones that were introduced in 2020. It is manufactured in a 12 nm FinFET process and integrates 8 CPU cores. Two fast ARM Cortex-A75 cores with up to 2 GHz for performance tasks and six small ARM Cortex-A55 with up to 1.8 GHz for efficiency. All eight cores can be used together thanks to Heterogeneous Multi-Processing support. The integrated GPU is an ARM Mali-G52 MC2 (MP2) with two clusters at up to 950 MHz. The SoC also integrates the HyperEngine that handles dynamic management of CPU, GPU, and memory.
The SoC is built on the 12nm node and offers an octa-core CPU with 2x Cortex-A75 cores ticking at 2.0GHz while the other 6x Cortex-A55 cores running at 1.8GHz. The G70 is practically the same but with a slightly lower clock on the small cores so instead of 1.8GHz, the six Cortex-A55 cores running at 1.7GHz.
The Helio G80 makes use of some of MediaTek’s high-end features like HyperEngine Game technology and built-in VoW (voice on wakeup). The latter lowers the power consumption for voice assistance services while the HyperEngine promises smoother gaming.
Some of the benefits of the HyperEngine tech are the smart switch to LTE + WiFi connectivity during gameplay when the system detects a slow internet connection. And, of course, provides mode stable gameplay performance by actively managing the CPU and GPU performance. The SoC integrates furthermore a LTE radio with Cat-7 (download) / Cat-13 (upload) support, Wifi 5 (ac), Bluetooth 5.0, LPDDR4x 1800 MHz and eMMC 5.1 storage.
The MediaTek Helio G80 enables brands to mix up multi-camera systems that use a wide-angle, telescopic, macro, or other lens setups to create differentiated smartphone options. Building on generations of photographic excellence in MediaTek Helio, the G80 includes a multitude of a hardware accelerator, such as a dedicated depth engine, Camera Control Unit (CCU), Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), and Rolling Shutter Compensation (RSC) technology that enhances video panning and ultra-fast recording (up to 240fps).
Connectivity includes essential dual 4G VoLTE for exceptional voice and video call quality, faster connection setup time, more reliable coverage, and lower power consumption. Meanwhile, 802.11ac connectivity provides fast Wi-Fi performance, while Bluetooth/Wi-Fi co-existence simplifies product design and assures a reliable user experience.
The secure ISP design means facial recognition actions such as smartphone unlocking are ultra-fast, highly accurate, and add a new layer of security.
