MediaTek has launched the Helio G90 series SoCs specially designed for gaming smartphones. The two chipsets G90 and G90T features the company’s latest HyperEngine Game Technology that tunes the smartphone for an enhanced gaming experience possible.

As per the features, Helio G90 series combines the advanced CPU and GPU cores with ultra-fast memory and massive AI performance to deliver fast fluid performance. These octa-core chipsets use ARM’s latest Cortex-A76 and Cortex-A55’s integrated with the ARM Mali — G76 3EEMC4 GPU with speeds of up to 800MHz. The CPU, GPU and APU are capable of delivering up to 1TMACs performance, for peak power and smooth gameplay. The latest G90 series supports up to 10GB of LPDDR4x, up to 2133MHz memory, a large L3 cache. The chipset is clocked at the speeds of up to 2.05GHz.

For imaging, Helio G90 series supports up to 64MP or 48MP single camera and multi-camera combination of Dual 24MP + 16MP cameras. The camera offers real-time previews and supposedly good picture quality in low-light with a night shot mode that uses quad pixel technology.

Its triple-ISP design optimizes power and performance. It also incorporates fast, precise AI facial detection and the power to accelerate AI-camera applications. Plus, its multi-camera framework supports multiple lens choices.

For connectivity, Helio G90 integrates a Cat-12 4G LTE WorldMode modem with 3x CA and 4x4 MIMO and 256QAM. This delivers more reliable connectivity performance even in densely populated spaces.

Advanced cellular features such as IMS (VoLTE\ViLTE\VoWi-Fi), which is now supported by over 175 cellular operators worldwide, and other standards include global eMBMS, HPUE and Band 71 support in North America.
