The phone features a glass design and it is equipped with a 5.7-inch HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels along with 18:9 aspect ratio. Lenovo K9 is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The memory can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. With this, the smartphone will face a stiff competition with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 6, Nokia 3.1 Plus and Realme 2 as all of them are priced competitively in this price band.
The device is backed by 3000mAh battery and the company is offering USB Type-C cable and 10W charger, which should charge the phone fast. On the software front, it runs on Android 8.1 Oreo, which gives a stock Android look and feel. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, hybrid dual-SIM slot, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, GLONASS and USB Type-C port. The phone measures 153.8 x 72.9 x 7.95mm and it will be available in Blue and Black colour options.
After a hiatus of almost a year, Lenovo has launched the successor to the popular Lenovo K8. The new Lenovo K9 is priced at Rs 8,999 for the 3GB RAM/32GB internal storage variant and is currently available for pre-ordering exclusively on Flipkart.
Key features of the device include an 18:9 aspect ratio display, 3,000mAh battery, dual front and rear cameras.
The Lenovo K9 sports a 5.72-inch HD+ Max Vision display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and 2.5D curved glass protection on both the back and the front. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 processor paired with Imagination’s PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It comes with 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of internal storage expandable via a microSD card. The device runs Google’s Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery.
The Lenovo K9 features a plastic frame with 2.5D curved glass panels on the front and back. The device is very thin, compact and extremely lightweight, thus making it extremely easy to handle. I’m currently using the Honor Play as my primary phone and holding the Lenovo K9 for the first time did make a compelling case for me to shift on to it.
The front panel of the device consists of the 5.72-inch HD+ MaxView display along with the earpiece, the dual selfie camera, and a soft flash. On the back, we get to see the dual camera setup, a dual LED flash, the secondary microphone for noise cancellation, the Lenovo branding and a fingerprint sensor. On the right edge, we get a textured power button along with separate volume rockers. On the left edge, there is the hybrid dual SIM card tray.
The rear panel of Lenovo K9 looks pretty good with the 2.5D glass adding a premium touch to it. The glass panel is also reflective similar to the Honor’s 9N and 9 Lite smartphones. Lenovo K9 is pretty light and perfect for one-handed use.
For performance, Lenovo is powered by MediaTek’s Helio P22 processor which is built on the 12nm process. A longer and thorough use of the phone will determine its performance. But during our usage, it seemed pretty fast. Navigating across the phone was a breeze. To top it off, Lenovo K9 runs an almost stock Android 8.1 Oreo on the software front. There are a few pre-loaded games like Asphalt Nitro, Sonic Runner and more.
It is one of the best phones in India.
