LG W30: A Good Addition to The Budget Segment
LG has recently introduced W series in India. On 26th June, the company unveiled three smartphones in the W series namely W10, W30 and W30 Pro. Of three, the W30 Pro will be available later in July or August. Whereas, the LG W10 and W30 have been launched. I used LG W30 for a brief moment and would like to walk you through my review of this device.
The W30 has been launched at Rs 9,999 and arrives in the plastic build. The textured back and the pseudo-metal sandwich design gives it a premium look. The handset comes in two colour variants of grey and blue. The latter has some colour gradients with the yellow tint, which looks quite appealing to me.
Though the device comes with a 4,000mAh battery, you will not feel the weight when you pick up the device. Despite having a huge battery unit, LG W30 is pretty light.
With the 6.26-inches display supports HD+ FullVision display with the screen resolution of 1520 × 720 pixels. The key highlight of LG W30 is that it comes with a customisable option for the notch. You can go to the phone settings and choice between the waterdrop, V notch or a no notch on the top. I find this option very interesting.
Apart from exciting pricing, what attracts me is the user interface. The entire W series uses stock Android experience based on the latest Android Pie which means less Android animation. Performance wise, LG W30 is powered by MediaTek Helio P22 processor. Chip is further paired with 3GB of RAM to offer seamless overall performance. In the brief time I used the phone, the performance seemed decent and I was able to play games with no lags.
The triple camera setup of LG W30 captures really good and detailed pictures. A 12MP low light sensor, 13MP wide-angle camera and 2MP depth sensors are followed by a dual LED flash to capture pictures in any light condition. A 16MP camera sensor is here for selfies.
In the sub-10,000 category, the LG W30 is a pretty powerful smartphone with amazing features. The phone will compete with smartphones like Realme 3 Pro, Samsung M30 and Xiaomi Note 7A. Now, we will have to wait to see how will this device perform in the long term.
