Life of a 9 to 5 Private Employee in India
Did you say you do not work from 9 to 5?
You must be working from 10 to 6 or 10 to 7 or 10:30 to 7:30; right?
Well, no matter what time you work for a private organization in India, the life of an employee is almost the same.
People would tell that they work in big companies with American or English or Australian shifts and they just have to log in and log out every day without doing any work, but that is absolutely not true. No matter what you do, you need to work; no matter what your shift tends to be.
So talking about the life of employees on day shifts, most of them get up between 7 and 9 AM in the morning and as soon as they get up, the first thing they see is their smartphone.
They would take their smartphone to the bathroom and they would scroll through the feeds of social media till the platform says that they have nothing else to see. And because they are bound by time (when their organization cuts the pay for being late), they need to get out of the bathroom, get ready and reach the office in time.
The rush that you see on roads in every city in the world during office timings is proof that most families are doing well because of these jobs. And then they work in the office for the stipulated time. Most of them work for late hours, even after the office timings, so that they can impress the boss and get better promotions or increments in their next appraisal.
However, most of them are absolutely disappointed when they view their appraisals. But nevertheless, they come back to their home at night and get agitated by the food that comes in front of them. This food could have been cooked by them, their spouse, their other family members, or their maids.
However, just because these employees are addicted to fancy foods that are cooked in stores, the home food appears bland and tasteless. The employees order these food products, have them with satisfaction and then come out on the road for a smoke. After a few cigarettes, it’s time to have some hard drinks before they go to sleep.
And the cycle gets repeated until they go bored with their job and change it to get a better increment in their new job. Most of them get new jobs and they start this daily cycle again to impress their boss and manager, aspiring for a better increment in the upcoming period.
And this is how a 9 to 5 private employee spends his or her life, waiting for big good things to come, ignoring the small good things, and realizing things later. Many of them have the privilege to visit abroad and some like to travel to different parts of India as well. Many of them leave their job in between and go for something unusual like vlogging or a career that nobody has ever heard of.
Is it easy being such an employee in India? Easy if you are in a career that you love and the most difficult thing if you hate your job. Do you agree?
