Being sophisticated is not just enough amidst the immense competition. You need to be more sophisticated than yesterday and this is what TSMC has been aiming for in the third quarter of 2021.

TSMC, which is one of the leaders in smartphone chipset production has announced the preparation of 4nm smartphone chipsets, which is to start soon, as aforementioned. Well, while you would have already read in the headline, MediaTek would be the first one to grab this opportunity and it is about to come with its 4nm 5G chipsets pretty soon.

We have already seen Mediatek chipsets reducing from 28nm to 6nm in size and the latest 6nm chipset, Mediatek Dimensity 900 is about to enter the market pretty soon in a number of smartphones.

As of now, there already are 5nm chipsets in the market from brands such as Qualcomm and Samsung and these are doing pretty well. However, this 4nm 5G chipset would certainly be a revolution and you would know that having a chipset with the least size has its own sweet advantages.

According to an article by GizChina: The new chip is runs the ARM v9 architecture; and will include the latest Cortex-X2 and Cortex-A510 cores. Presumably, the graphics accelerator Mali-G710, which became the successor to the Mali-G78, will be responsible for graphics processing. If these predictions ultimately come true, then next year MediaTek may roll out a true flagship processor that can compete with the Snapdragon 895.”

Besides, if you believe the sources, Mediatek might launch this 4nm chipset in the first half of the year 2022, making it much better for gamers. These gaming users always look for the most sophisticated chipsets in smartphones and hence this 4nm chipset would be a great thing for the users.

Also, a brand-new technology always gets the attention of the smartphone manufacturers, and therefore, we could see brands like Realme, Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi to be competing to bring a smartphone with this chipset.

What do you think would be the new name of this 4nm chipset by MediaTek?
