Motorola Android 9 TV: Smart TVs Get Cheaper

Did you know that Motorola launched an Android TV way back in September? Well, and this television has a MediaTek chipset?

Well, I think most of us did not pay any heed to this but Motorola Android 9 TV is perhaps one of the cheapest smart televisions among the prime brands.

Design and Display

The Motorola smart TV comes with a wide range of screen sizes and screen resolutions.

It starts at the entry-level 32-inch HDR model to the 43-inch model available in both FHD and UHD to the 50-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch models available in UHD resolutions. Talking about the display, Motorola opens up that the TV features an IPS panel and comes with the autotuneX display technology and offers a 178-degree viewing angle, HDR 10, and Dolby Vision.

Performance

Under the hood, the Motorola Android 9 TV comes powered by a MediaTek MT5660 chipset which consists of four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.0GHz and Mali 450 GPU. It is paired with 2.25GB RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. It is powered by the company’s MEMC technology which helps in processing better graphics while gaming and viewing high-motion graphics, and runs on Android 9. For audio, the TV includes 30W front-firing speakers that come with its TruSound and Dolby Audio for an enhanced audio experience.

Motorola is relying on Google Android TV OS as the software platform for its first smart TV. The Motorola TV will, in fact, use the Android 9 Pie TV OS, which is the second latest version of Android TV OS so far.

As per Motorola, the MEMC technology helps the TV in better graphics reproduction and reduces the blur during high-motion content, which makes it ideal for gaming and consuming action videos/movies. To showcase this, it also showed a quick gaming demo, and said, the TVs will come with a bundled gamepad.

Price Details:

The Motorola smart TV comes in six different sizes, and is priced according to its size. The prices start at 13,999 (32-inch HDR), INR 24,999 (43-inch FHD), INR 29,999 (43-inch UHD), INR 33,999 (50-inch UHD), INR 39,999 (55-inch UHD) and the highest variant costs INR 64,999 (65-inch UHD)

Well, Motorola has made smart TV accessible to all by launching it at a low price and I think this is good enough. Also, credits for choosing Mediatek chipset which too matters a lot in its performance and overall price.
