Here I am, again with a really wise comparison between two smartphones of almost equal capability. However, the difference between them is that little “almost” that can make a huge difference. So the smartphones on my radar today are Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G, which has just been launched in India, and Redmi K30 Ultra which is really desired but awaiting its launch.

The common element between the two smartphones is their powerful processor. Both the smartphones are powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ octa-core 5G chipset that is clocked at 2.6GHz and is really powerful for the users. However, there are few points of differences between them and you ought to know these.

Display:

Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G contains a 6.55-inch display with powerful Super AMOLED support and a 90Hz display refresh rate. There is a punch-hole cutout in front for the front camera. Against this, Redmi K30 Ultra contains a 6.67-inch display with only AMOLED support but a display refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Overall, I find the display of Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G slightly better in the aspect.

Operating System:

While Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G has Android 11 support, Redmi K30 Ultra would still provide only Android 10.

Max Memory and Storage Support:

While both smartphones are available in a number of variants as per the RAM and ROM, the max RAM supported in Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G is 12GB with max internal storage support of 256GB. Against this, Redmi K30 Ultra could support only up to 8GB RAM but it supports as much as 512GB of internal storage.

Camera Support:

The camera support in the devices is something that many people look forward to and both smartphones have an exceptional camera section. While Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G contains a 64MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP quad-rear camera, Redmi K30 Ultra contains a 64MP + 13MP + 5MP + 2MP quad-rear camera. And before you think that Redmi would offer you better rear footage, let me tell you that the quality out of the Oppo cameras is much better.

And let me tell you that Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G has a clear advantage in terms of the front camera. It offers a 32MP front camera against the 20MP front camera in Redmi K30 Ultra.

Battery Section:

Redmi K30 Ultra has a very minor advantage as far as the battery is concerned. It contains a 4500mAh battery against the 4350mAh battery in Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G. However, Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G has a huge advantage in terms of charging support. It supports 65W fast charging while Redmi K30 Ultra can support only up to 33W fast charging.

So overall, I think Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G has an advantage in terms of the features and it also comes at a really good cost. What do you think?
