Redmi Note 8 Pro: Great Features for Great Price
I can’t stop talking about Redmi Note 8 Pro since Xiaomi has launched the phone for a really great price in India. It comes with some high-end features which you hardly get to see in the given price range. The Redmi Note 8 Pro has MediaTek’s Helio G90T chipset inside. It is probably the first time when Redmi is using MediaTek chipset is being used in a pro version. This phone is special in many ways, below are the features of Redmi Note 8 Pro:
Design and Display
It has a very good build quality and premium glass sandwich design, similar to its predecessor, the Redmi Note 7 Pro. It uses Gorilla Glass 5 on the front as well the back.
The display quality is really Good, bright 6.53-inch IPS panel works well with very good sunlight legibility. It supports HDR which is a rare find in this price range.
Powerful Hardware and Software
Redmi Note 8 Pro delivers excellent, best-in-class performance with the powerful MediaTek Helio G90T on board — that performs around the same level as last year’s flagship Snapdragon 845. The Redmi Note 8 Pro sails through anything you throw at it — this is essentially a top-end gaming phone at affordable price. It has a significant edge in benchmarks over its main competitor, the Realme XT, that packs the Snapdragon 712.
The best part about this phone is its liquid cooling technology which keeps phone cooler by 4–6 degrees while gaming and heavy usages.
It runs MIUI 10 on the top of Android 9 Pie. MIUI is one of the more refined and smooth Android skins around and has a number of add-on features and a lot of customizability. As per some reports, it will be soon updated to MIUI 11.
Great Camera Combo
The new Note 8 Pro delivers some superlative camera performance just like the Note Pro series has done for a few years now. After Helio G90T, its 64MP camera setup is another key highlight of the device especially the main 64MP camera
The quad-camera setup on the rear includes a 64MP primary camera + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP depth sensor + 2MP macro lens. The main 64MP sensor is versatile and offers excellent images at daylight as well as night. The camera set up is also capable of some surprisingly good 2x (digital) zoom photos eliminating the need for a cheap telephoto lens. The 20MP selfie camera also works pretty well.
All in all, Redmi Note 8 Pro is the new best camera phone under Rs 20k, with a slight edge over the other great camera phone of this price bracket, the Realme XT, with clearer low-light photos, and slightly sharper images
Massive Battery
The device delivers outstanding, class-leading battery life, with a 4500mAh unit and a super-efficient chipset. Here you will comfortably get 2 days of use and more
It supports USB PD 18W fast charging, that can charge the phone from 0 to 40% in about 30 minutes — and for a change, now also includes a compatible fast charger inside the box.
My take on Redmi Note 8 Pro
The new offering of Xiaomi’s Redmi Note series is a fantastic bang-for-the-buck smartphone. The Note 8 Pro givers deliver faster performance, longer battery life, and slightly better camera if compared with the Note 7 Pro.
