Right to Speech vs Freedom of Speech
If you talk about a Republic nation such as India, people are of the view that they have an absolute right to do many things, as the preamble offers them. And one of these rights is the right to speech where people can speak anything in public without caring about any penal acts against them.
But people in India have taken this right to speak to the next level and have considered it a sort of freedom to speak anything and get away with it because the constitution offers them the right. Do you think this is right?
Well, people have used this Right in an unethical and immoral way to defame others without knowing the truth and this is one of the downsides of this right. Right to speech is good when you speak with your morals intact, but it becomes a bane when you lose your morals and start delivering verbal diarrhea.

And social media is the worst example in this case where people are allowed to speak almost anything they want without even caring if at all it is true or it hurts the sentiments of other people. Social media is all about politics these days and gone are the days when there was something educational as well.
Nowadays, people use social media just to spread hatred about others and have involved even in the common people in this race. This is something really tragic and one of the worst examples where freedom of speech is literally degrading the next generation.
But at a grassroots level, do you too use this Right to Speech as Freedom to Speak anything you want? Have you ever pondered over the consequences that can occur due to this? We are fortunate that we live in India and do not have dictators telling us what to do. Ever wondered what would have been the condition if you were born in Germany during Hitler or worst, in North Korea during Kim Jong? Well, if people in India keep misusing their right to speech in an unwanted manner, it would not be long when India too would have a dictator and you would not be able to do anything because you would have voted for them.
So beware of what you speak. Your speech can literally cause trouble to you and these Constitutional Rights would not be able to save you then.
