Some Unsaid and Unwritten Gym Rules and Etiquettes

  • You cannot become Arnold Schwarzenegger from day 1. So it is important to follow the instructions of your trainer and work out according to your limits. Do not push too hard and neither lift something very heavy. There could be serious issues in your body and in worst cases, you would never be able to visit a gym again.
  • A gym is a place where you would find lots of different kinds of people. Some of them may have been working out for quite some time now and they would have a body you dream. However, it is important not to stare at anyone during their workout and approach them politely if you have to ask anything.
  • Never ever touch anybody’s any part of the body without their permission. You may think it’s okay to touch the rock-hard abs of a person or spank the butt of a person while exercising, but this is very inappropriate, even if you know him or her closely.
  • For personal music, always carry headphones and do not play music loud on your smartphone. Not everybody has your taste of music so do not force it on them.
  • Do not make it awkward for other people by having very few clothes or too skinny clothes. Ensure having proper clothes on and if you have to look into the mirror, find some proper place.
  • Do not just focus on the mirror while exercising. You may have the intention of having good muscles but you need to be very careful while using those machines.
  • If you are too interested in making TikTok and Instagram Reel videos, ensure to make them in a private place. Never try to capture anybody without their permission in your photos and videos. Also, if you have taken a picture, make sure you inform the person.
