Honourable Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad made an absolute senseless statement by saying that 3 movies were released. Film trade analyst Komal Nahta told that the day saw earning of over Rs 120 crores, a record by 3 movies. The economy of the country is sound, that is why there is a return of Rs 120cr in a day.

There is an economic slowdown in the country but big leaders like Ravi Shankar saying such things. Recently, the sale of online shopping companies was quite good. And now that films have earned record-breaking, then it was said that there is no economic downturn in the country. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad also said in a press conference that there will be no recession in the country.

NSSO is the largest institution in the country to release data related to the economy. That is the National Sample Survey Office which works under the Ministry of Statistics and Programming Implementation.

By giving such statement, it simply means that Ravi Shankar Prasad is putting a question mark on a minister of his own government. But the truth will be only one.

As per RBI, the GDP growth in this financial year can be 6.1 percent. Earlier RBI had said that GDP growth will be 6.9 percent. But after the GDP rate came down to 5 per cent in this quarter, for the next year also, the RBI cut the GDP growth estimate by 0.8 per cent.

Even a report from the IMF (International Monetary Fund) also says that India is going through the biggest economic slowdown in 45 years. You can’t tell about countries economic situation on the basis of Movies and online sales.

It is a shame that a party which is responsible to answer all the questions related to the country and its well being is raising questions like this.
